I'm writing this post purely out of a growing hatred for Internet Explorer. I suppose it is more the development team behind it, but I don't wish to be angry toward people. I might be all wet, but I have been developing programs, websites and other software for the Internet, and every step I take to be compatible with all Internet browsers, IE still stands in the dark, laughing at developer who have to always do extra bug coding to make our site look and work on IE.
I'm not sure who was the first out of the gate, possibly Netscape way back in the day. But when it comes to css, IE developers decided to do things a little backwards with several objects that effect the look of a site layout, mainly padding. While all other browser developers were thinking on the same page, IE was off doing their own thing.
Now you have millions of websites live with bug induced code to get around this issue. So everyone's hands are tied. Now how can IE change to comply with the others? If they do, all the code on these sites will become redundant and cause all kinds of havic to the layouts of millions of websites.
Thing is, IE comes with Microsoft installed on all PC's. Most users don't have a clue they even have a choice. I just read a post where IE 8 acurally introduced a bug that makes safe websites, unsafe. Now they didn't plan such a thing, but hey, is it time for IE to hang up their coats and go home?
I am writing this post for all my clients. Please listen, there are other choices to browsing the Internet. They are free just like IE is. You can save me a lot of work if you just leave IE in the dust. I really am very sick and tired of designing wonderful looking things, only to find out that on IE something is wrong, moved over, over-laping, and the list goes on and on.
Go to Google.com and search for Firefox if you are a hubOpus user. This system is completely compatible with the editor as well as browsing the site on the Internet. If you are a Apply user, then Safari is preloaded and you are all set to browse the world of websites. However, if you are a hubOpus site owner, please also install FireFox for editing your site content. There are things in Safari that do not work inside the hubOpus editor.
Thank you for listening to me carry on a bit, but now you know more of the story behind why things don't always work as planned.
